Biography
Jeanine Cowen works as a freelance composer, music producer, and sound designer focusing primarily on the intersection of audio and visual medias. She enjoys creating in the continually evolving world of art and technology. As a classically trained percussionist, Jeanine has pursued dual majors in Music Performance and Computer Science from Northwestern University, degrees in Film Scoring, and Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music, as well as a masters degree in Interactive Design and Game Development from SCAD. As a highly experienced technologist with extensive musical training in classical, jazz, and contemporary genres, Jeanine excels in creative, collaborative productions with credits spanning the film, television, game, and music industries.
In 2017, after more than a decade in administrative positions, Jeanine stepped away from her role as Vice President for Curriculum and Program Development at Berklee College of Music in order to more fully pursue creative opportunities. She maintains an active teaching presence in music composition and technology, both in on-campus and online environments. Jeanine is a frequent guest lecturer and speaks at numerous industry events around the world. Along with her freelance work, Jeanine is a contributing partner in a media production company that focuses on AR/VR content development.
